Next steps for businesses

The Assault-Style Firearms Compensation Program for businesses has ended as of June 4, 2026. Businesses can no longer create new accounts or submit claims.

Businesses may still access the web portal to view their account, messages, firearms inventory and existing claims. Compensation will be issued within 45 business days after the successful completion of all required firearm validations.

Businesses (except those with required registration certificates and specific privileges on their licence) must dispose of or permanently deactivate their assault-style firearms before the amnesty period expires, or risk criminal liability for the illegal possession of a prohibited firearm.
