Eligible inventory categories

The following are eligible under the Assault-Style Firearms Compensation Program:

• Assault-style firearms(including lower receivers) that are complete and assembled
• Devices: upper receivers of the M16, M4, AR-10 and AR-15 platforms, assembled or stripped
• Certain eligible associated parts and components of assault-style firearms including bolts, triggers and barrels

Find all firearms (including lower receivers) and upper receivers prohibited in May 2020, December 2024 or March 2025, as well as certain associated parts and components eligible under the program that you can declare.

Businesses (except those with required registration certificates and specific privileges on their licence) must safely dispose of or permanently deactivate their assault-style firearms before the amnesty period expires, or risk criminal liability for the illegal possession of a prohibited firearm.
