Canadian Deep Precision Strike Capability (CDPSC)

About the initiative

The Canadian Deep Precision Strike Capability (CDPSC) project aims to deliver a long-range, precision strike capability that can be deployed and used in operations within a short timeframe to increase the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)’s ability to deter threats, respond rapidly in conflict and operate effectively with the joint force and allies and partners.

Led by the Canadian Joint Forces Command, the project includes:

  • acquiring equipment
  • training personnel
  • establishing logistical support
  • integration with CAF Command Control and enterprise networks
  • building reliable inventory needed for sustained employment

Together, these activities will deliver a fully integrated, sovereign Canadian capability, while keeping pace with rapid advances in autonomy, artificial intelligence, communications and manufacturing.

Key requirements

This project supports Canada's defence and industrial priorities, including Canada’s defence policy and Defence Industrial Strategy. The CAF is seeking a capability that is:

  • secure
  • cost-effective
  • scalable
  • resilient

It must also be capable of operating in challenging environments, including those affected by:

  • electronic warfare
  • cyber threats
  • Global Positioning System (GPS) disruption
  • air defence systems

Collaboration with industry

In August 2026, the CAF will hold a closed engagement (vetting and approval) question-and-answer (Q&A) session with industry representatives to:

  • share information about this new high-priority capability requirement
  • explain which types of technologies and solutions it considers best suited to support its rapid development, testing, and fielding
  • provide an opportunity for industry representatives to ask questions to better understand the requirement and prepare for future engagement opportunities

Find out how to participate.

Next steps

The CAF will advance this initiative through:

  • technical discussions and collaboration forums
  • procurement initiation and live demonstrations
  • refined selection with formal test and evaluations
  • final selection and acquisition towards integration and operationalisation.
