Participate in a question-and-answer session: Canadian Deep Precision Strike Capability

The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) is inviting industry representatives to participate in a question and answer (Q&A) session on the Canadian Deep Precision Strike Capability, a new high-priority defence capability requirement.
The session will:
- provide information on the requirement and its objectives
- outline the types of mature and emerging technologies that may best support its rapid development, demonstration, testing, and fielding
- offer an opportunity for industry representatives to ask questions, gain a better understanding of the requirement, and prepare for future engagement opportunities.
Who can participate
Industry members are encouraged to attend the Q&A session to express their interest, ask questions, and share relevant product information that could shape the future development of Canada’s deep precision strike capability.
The CAF is interested in engaging with the following potential participants:
- Defence primes and established contractors
- Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
- Software and autonomy developers
- AI and computer vision companies
- Advanced manufacturing firms
- Academic/research institutions and accelerators
- Emerging technology organizations
- Canadian industry related associations
- Allied industry partners
How to participate
Industry representatives developing capabilities and supporting technologies relevant to this project are encouraged to attend the event.

Purpose of the event
This event aims to help speed up delivery of a needed capability that strengthens Canada’s operational readiness, sovereign defence and interoperability with Allies.

- This engagement is for information gathering and dialogue only
- It is not part of an innovation pipeline; it is a focused, rapid technology acceleration initiative
- Participation does not constitute a procurement process, Request for Proposal (RFP), or a commitment by the Government of Canada
The CAF is seeking industry input on technologies that support a long-range, precise, and resilient strike capability.
Solutions must:
- operate effectively in contested environments
- meet defined performance requirements (range, payload, accuracy)
- integrate with CAF and allied systems
- be practical to produce, sustain, and scale
- be transparent regarding supply chains
- be safe and secure in accordance with cyber, explosives and airworthiness requirements
Key areas of interest include:
- autonomous systems
- navigation
- communication technologies
- artificial intelligence (AI)
- advanced manufacturing
- supporting tools such as command-and-control and training systems

This Q&A session will take into consideration the following.
- Lessons learned from recent conflicts
- Growing demand for low-cost, long-range precision strike systems
- Rapid advances in autonomy, AI, communications, and manufacturing
Desired solution characteristics:
The CAF is seeking solutions that:
Can conduct mission profiles operating at long ranges (beyond 500 kms), while remaining effective at shorter ranges. Exact threshold and objective ranges will be disclosed at a later stage of this process
- Carry a payload capacity of over 100Kg (excluding fuel and sensors). Exact payload capacity will be disclosed at a later stage of this process
- Include survivability features for successful use in an electronically contested environment without constant command and control without depending on traditional Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), like Global Positioning System (GPS)
- Integrate with CAF and allied targeting processes
- Accuracy requirements will be disclosed at a later stage of the process
- Protect mission data and information
- Support deployable launch options
- Consider swarm integration
- Enable scalable, sovereign production and sustainment
Note: The capability must be practical to produce, maintain, and sustain at scale. It should be suitable for stockpiling, replenishment, training, upgrades, and long-term affordability. Suppliers must also provide full supply chain transparency and meet applicable cybersecurity, safety, airworthiness, and explosives safety requirements.
