Advertising

As a licensed dealer, you should be transparent and accurate when speaking about your licence. This includes any statements to the media or elsewhere about prohibited activities such as selling or offering to sell controlled substances to the public. Even with a licence, you're not allowed to sell or advertise any controlled substances to the public.

If you partner with a company that does not hold a licence, such as an affiliate or subsidiary, you must ensure that this unlicensed company is not advertising your activities to the public.

In any public communication, it must be clear which business holds a valid licence and is authorized to provide controlled substances. If you are the owner of a controlled substance, you may also require a licence even if you do not physically handle the controlled substance.

Misleading statements may be harmful to the public.

Note: There are currently no approved pharmaceutical products in Canada that contain restricted drugs. Advertising any controlled substances to the general public, including unauthorized or unapproved controlled substances, is prohibited.
