Request an FCAC representative

The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) has representatives (speakers, subject matter experts, exhibitors, etc.) who are available to present to and engage with diverse audiences in support of FCAC’s strategic goals.

You can invite an FCAC representative to a speaking opportunity, event, or other type of public engagement activity.

Our strategic goals

  • Be the national leader in financial consumer protection
  • Strengthen the financial literacy of Canadians for an increasingly digital world
  • Be the authoritative source of Canadian financial consumer information

Our approach to engagement

  • Coordinated: We coordinate our engagement strategically, at an organizational level.
  • Intentional: We participate in engagements that support FCAC’s strategic goals.
  • Measurable: We assess our engagements to learn and improve.

Our principles for engagement

FCAC prioritizes speaking engagements that:

  • advance understanding of our mandate and role
  • advance relationships with FCAC’s partners and collaborators
  • are broadly accessible and avoid any real or perceived conflict of interest or preferential treatment
  • reach a wide range of Canadians and demographics
  • demonstrate value for the target audience
  • demonstrate efficient use of resources

Frequently requested topics

As a leader and authoritative voice in financial consumer protection, FCAC receives invitations for keynote addresses, panel discussions, presentations, exhibitions, and more.

FCAC has 3 core responsibilities: protecting the rights and interests of consumers of financial products and services, supervising federally regulated financial entities, and strengthening the financial literacy of Canadians.

An FCAC representative can cover a variety of topics.

Some of the most requested topics are:

What you need to know when submitting a request

  • There is no cost to schedule a FCAC representative
  • All requests must be submitted using FCAC’s online request form
  • Your request should be submitted at least six weeks prior to your event or engagement
  • Your request should provide detailed and complete information so we can assess your request efficiently and make a timely decision
  • Any event with publicity (including media advisories, news releases, social media, promotional content, etc.) that mentions FCAC’s participation must receive FCAC’s approval prior to the publicity’s release

Please note, FCAC receives numerous speaking requests and considers each one. While we aim to reach as many Canadians as possible, logistical and time constraints may prevent us from accepting every invitation. If we are unable to attend your event or engagement, we will do our best to refer you to another organization or representative who can meet your needs. We aim to provide a decision within 15 business days after receiving your request.

FCAC might need to replace a representative or cancel an accepted request due to unforeseen circumstances. Should this occur, we will notify you as early as possible and will work with you to find an alternative.

For any additional questions, please email fcac.engagement.acfc@fcac-acfc.gc.ca.
