Information

The registration link is unavailable until 6:00 a.m. on October 19, 2026.

Your organization must register with the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) every year it plans to participate.

Although the program runs year‑round, most free tax clinics take place during tax season (late February to early May). To avoid delays and ensure your organization is ready on time, register in late October.

Before you register

Before registering, your organization should:

  • review the program information and requirements
  • decide how it will host free tax clinics
  • confirm readiness to meet program responsibilities

Register your organization

Once ready, register your organization to participate in the CVITP.

Organizations outside of Quebec

If your organization is located in one of the following provinces or territories, register through the CVITP:

  • Alberta
  • British Columbia
  • Manitoba
  • New Brunswick
  • Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Nova Scotia
  • Northwest Territories
  • Nunavut
  • Ontario
  • Prince Edward Island
  • Saskatchewan
  • Yukon

Organizations in Quebec

Tax clinics in Quebec are hosted through the Income Tax Assistance - Volunteer Program (ITAVP)

If your organization is located in Quebec, register with the ITAVP.

After you register

After your organization completes its registration, a CVITP officer will contact you to provide information to help you prepare to host free tax clinics.

If your organization is approved to participate in the program, you will be assigned a CVITP Organization Identification Number (COIN) to retain for the duration of your organization’s participation in the program.

Once approved, your organization can begin planning and delivering free tax clinics in collaboration with registered volunteers and CRA support.

For more information, contact a CVITP officer.
