About science and research priorities
The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) uses a rigorous process to prioritize research needed to inform public health action. To identify gaps in public health knowledge or evidence, we collaborate with other government departments, external experts, academia, and funding agencies.
Identification of science and research gaps helps mobilize knowledge generation for priority public health topics and promote collaborative science and research activities to support decision-making for a credible and evidence-informed public health system. Funders can use these priorities to support research that carries out the recommendations and public health needs identified by PHAC.
