Avian influenza A(H5Nx): Public health knowledge gaps and research needs

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), in collaboration with domestic and international partners, continuously monitors for emerging or re-emerging pathogens. Using a One Health approach, PHAC identifies key public health knowledge gaps and research needs for avian influenza A(H5Nx).

The 2025 update is available on the Federal Open Science Repository of Canada and outlines the most urgent scientific priorities and key knowledge gaps aligned with the broader federal science agenda.
