How is valley fever diagnosed?
Valley fever is diagnosed based on:
- your symptoms
- travel history
- a physical examination
- laboratory tests
How is valley fever treated?
For many people, the disease usually goes away on its own without any treatment. The symptoms can last weeks to months.
Your health care provider may give you antifungal medications if you:
- have symptoms that are severe or do not improve
- are at higher risk of complications
