Seniority as a criterion to obtain access to parking

Topic

Seniority as a criterion to obtain access to parking

Case number

Description

The Committee noted that the Canadian Forces base Halifax Parking Policy currently requires a member to have five years of service in order to be able to purchase a parking pass. The Committee found that the decision to provide parking to members who have five years of service, or any other numerically based limitation does not comply with Defence Administrative order and Directive 1004-1 – Parking Administration.

Recommendation

The Committee recommended that the requirement to have a certain number of years of seniority to qualify for a parking pass be removed.
