Renew an existing official passport
You had a special or diplomatic passport that’s either still valid or was issued within 15 years of the date you’re applying.
Apply for an official passport as a regular passport holder
You have a regular (blue) Canadian passport that’s either
- still valid or
- was issued within 15 years of the date you’re applying
Apply for an official passport (no previous passport)
You have no valid passport, including a regular (blue) passport or an official one (special or diplomatic).
