COW – Wait times for Humanitarian and Compassionate – May 28, 2026
- When we get more applications than available spaces in the Immigration Levels Plan, some applicants may need to wait until space becomes available in a future year. This can increase processing times.
- Our goal is to process at least 80% of complete applications within service standards. While most applications are processed within service standards, strong global demand, particularly in categories where applications exceed planned targets can lead to longer wait times.
- We had to make difficult choices in this year’s Levels Plan. We know that reductions to the Humanitarian and Compassionate categories will put pressure on meeting our existing humanitarian commitments.
