COW – Application Status Tracker – May 28, 2026

• Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada's Application Status Tracker was taken offline on May 14, 2026, due to outdated information provided by the tool and possible security vulnerabilities.
• On average 10,000 users reference the tool a day; therefore, a notice was promptly posted online to inform users of the temporary service disruption.
• The decision to temporarily disable the Application Status Tracker tool was taken out of an abundance of caution to update its source of data and protect the integrity and security of client information.

Highlights

• The Department is acting quickly to investigate the issue and update the data source for the tool.
• Enhanced safeguards are being put in place for the tool, including monitoring to ensure it is properly working and providing clients with accurate information.
• The Department is giving high priority to reactivate the Application Status Tracker and aims to have it back online as soon as possible.
