Budget 2024 is about building an economy that works for everyone. On December 12, 2023, the government launched consultations to hear from Canadians on the most pressing challenges of today—such as making life more affordable, building more homes, faster, and creating good jobs for Canadian workers today and for generations to come. Specifically, questions focused on:
- What matters most to you and your family?
- What challenges do you see ahead?
- What are your top priorities for your government?
Pre-budget 2024 consultations concluded on February 9, 2024, and the questionnaire and submissions portal are now closed.

Next Steps
Your feedback will be reviewed by the Department of Finance to help inform decisions on Budget 2024. While these formal consultations have concluded, Canadians are welcome to share their ideas and comments with the Department of Finance at any time.
