Kristin Agnello

Kristin Agnello is an interdisciplinary scholar-practitioner based in Victoria, British Columbia. She has a background in architecture, urban design, planning, and international development. Kristin’s intersectional urban planning and design practices focus on creating just and equitable communities across Canada and around the world.

Kristin is the founder and director of Plassurban Consulting Inc., an intersectional urban planning and design firm dedicated to addressing inequity and vulnerability in the built environment. She served as Vice President (Canada) of the Commonwealth Association of Planners (2017-2021), inaugural Chair of the Commonwealth Women in Planning Network (2018-2021), and Regional Coordinator of the South Vancouver Island Chapter of the British Columbia Council for International Cooperation (2019-2020). She is also a TeachSDG ambassador for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, and a design specialist with the UK Design Council. Kristin advocated for women’s equity in urban planning at two UN Commissions on the Status of Women and three World Design Summits.

Actively involved in planning and urban design education, Kristin presented her equity-driven research at Royal Roads University, Vancouver Island University, the National Capital Commission, Islands Trust, BC Housing, Oxford Brookes University, and the University of Alberta. She is currently a Vanier Scholar and is completing her doctoral studies at Royal Roads University; her research investigates the relationships between policy and equity.
