Funding for the Northern Ontario Development Program The Treasury Board approved an allocation of up to $11,000,000 to the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario to make timely contribution payments to Kap Paper Inc. under the Northern Ontario Development Program. Challenges such as high tariffs, ageing infrastructure, and shrinking demand have severely impacted the viability of the company. These funds will sustain operations in the face of these challenges, while Kap Paper Inc. pursues a long-term business transformation to return to profitability.
