IPGHD - Report on the totals paid out to employees affected by the exception

To: Functional Heads of Finance, Administration and Human Resources

On , TBS advised you that the National Joint Council Executive Committee had been made aware of a discrepancy in the 2006 Fuel and Utilities levels, Appendix A, of a number of locations published in . The Executive Committee agreed to revise and update the indexes for a number of locations as listed in Annex II of the Information Notice.

All employees working in locations listed in Annex II between and , were to receive a lump sum amount equivalent to the difference between the previous and the revised 2006 F&UD levels according to the length of their service in that location.

Departments were required to calculate the difference between the revised dollar amounts of the F&UD versus the amount that was published in Appendix A and pay that difference for each employee in the affected location according to the length of their service in that location.

Departments were also to keep track of the above amounts as they would be required to report to TBS the totals paid out to affected employees.

We are writing today to seek your assistance in providing the TBS, by , the amounts paid out to employees, for each of the locations affected.

To this end, please provide the number of employees by location and the dollar amounts that were paid out for each employee in the affected location according to the length of their service in that location.   Also, please include the total amount paid out to employees who were entitled to a retroactive payment.

Your report should be forwarded to the attention of Ms. J. Tremblay, 400 Cooper Street, Ottawa, ON K1A 0R5 or electronically at the following email address: Jo‑Anne.Tremblay@tbs-sct.gc.ca.

Your cooperation is very much appreciated.
