Northforge Innovations Inc. was formed in 2004 and is headquartered in Quebec. The company develops software solutions to improve cybersecurity, as well as to facilitate the high-speed transmission of video, voice, and data.
The Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Tax Incentive Program has provided important financial support to the work of Northforge Innovations Inc. Over the years, the program has enabled Northforge to increase its employee base and revenue. These employees are doing research into complex technologies, which supports Canada's initiatives to become a leading innovation centre in the world. When asked about how the SR&ED Program has helped Northforge's research and development projects succeed, Brenda Pastorek, Northforge's president and chief operating officer, said:
The SR&ED Program has enabled the success of Northforge. SR&ED employees provided guidance that was essential to our participation in the program. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) employees with whom we communicated were professional, intelligent, patient, dedicated, technologically savvy, insightful, and transparent. Beyond that, they were happy to share their extensive knowledge about SR&ED and the CRA policy with good cheer.
