Claim Review Manual – severing recommendations revised

When the Claim Review Manual (CRM) was published on June 11, 2010, the front page indicated that the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Program had requested that the severing recommendations be reviewed by the Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) Directorate.

That review has now been completed by the ATIP Directorate.

As a result of this formal review, some of the material originally severed is now public. For convenience, this material is highlighted in yellow in the CRM. Information not released is primarily that considered exempted under paragraph 16(1)(c) of the Access to Information Act which exempts:

"Information the disclosure of which could reasonably be expected to be injurious to the enforcement of any law of Canada or a province or the conduct of lawful investigations…"

No other changes have been made to the CRM.
