Secure Drop Zone
The secure drop zone service is a secure way to exchange information digitally with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). You may download files, upload files, and send comments to the CRA agent you are working with.
What you need to use the service
- Drop zone number (provided by a CRA agent)
- Mobile phone
- Email address
How it works
- Your CRA agent will give you a 16-digit number to access your drop zone.
- Your drop zone will be available for the next 15 days, after which it will expire.
- Every time you access your drop zone, we will send you a one-time passcode by text to confirm your identity.
- Once the drop zone is opened, you will be able to download and upload your files (such as PDF, Excel, Word).
- Once the documents have been sent, the drop zone will be permanently closed.
The CRA takes a highly proactive approach to ensuring its systems and processes are robust against external threats and fraudulent activity.
