The Family Allowance program is related to the Canada child benefit but is not administered by the Canada Revenue Agency.

Family Allowance

Family Allowance provides financial assistance to all eligible families with dependent children under age 18. In Québec, a parent is not required to file an application in order to receive Family Allowance payments. By declaring a birth to the Directeur de l'état civil, a parent automatically registers his or her child to this measure.  For more information, visit the Retraite Québec website.
