We understand that people and businesses sometimes find themselves in situations where they are unable to pay their taxes or other debts in full right away.
Call us to:
- Set up a payment arrangement
- Change an existing payment arrangement
- Get help if you cannot pay right away

If you received a letter from a collections officer, call the number provided as soon as possible.
Confirm contact information to reach collections
If you have a personal income tax or COVID-19 benefit debt of $1,000 or more, you may be able to use the Manage balance service in your CRA account. It lets you confirm the contact information for your collections officer, if one is assigned, or the collections phone number for your account.
Follow these steps:
- Sign in to your CRA Account
- If available, you will see the Manage balance service
- Within the service, select “I want to discuss my amount owing with the CRA”
- View your collections officer’s contact information or the collections phone number to call
This can help you make sure you are calling the right number.

- Full name and date of birth or business name
- Complete personal or business address
- Assessed return, notice of assessment or reassessment, other notices or tax documents, or be signed in to My Account or My Business Account
