Improving federal procurement through Better Buying
The Government of Canada purchases about $37 billion in goods and services each year to help deliver programs and services to Canadians. Shared Services Canada and Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) handle more than 75% of the value of these purchases. The purchases include vaccines, military equipment, information technology (IT) solutions and so much more. PSPC buys goods and services for itself and on behalf of other federal departments and agencies.
Improving the way we buy
PSPC is making federal procurement easier, faster and more accessible for suppliers and buyers while maintaining the highest ethical standards for government procurement. These suppliers include small and medium-sized enterprises and businesses owned or led by underrepresented groups.
We are using our purchasing power to help address important issues like climate change, provide economic benefits for Canadian businesses and advance priorities that matter.
