The new Public Service Official Languages Exclusion Approval Orders and Public Service Official Languages Appointment Regulations (PSOLAR) came into effect December 31, 2005.

The Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer, Official Languages Branch develops legislation and policies on the administration of official languages within the federal Public Service.
