Following the Public Service Commission's Note to Deputy Heads on "On-the-Spot" Employment Offers issued in October 2007,
I am pleased to announce the release of the new PSC Guidance for Employment Offers at Recruitment Events.

This guide will assist the human resources community and hiring managers in determining when and how to extend employment offers at recruitment events, including "On-the-Spot" employment offers, while respecting the PSC Appointment Framework.

It is important to keep in mind that, while the option of extending employment offers at recruitment events provide managers with more flexibility, organizations should ensure that such offers are part of thorough Human Resource planning and preparation.

Yours sincerely,

Donald Lemaire
