New deployment option for persons employed at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (20-01)

As of December 17, 2019, persons employed at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada may now be deployed to departments and agencies whose appointments are made under the authority of the Public Service Commission and in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA).

This new flexibility has been added to their existing ability to participate in advertised internal appointment processes open to “persons employed” and ‘‘employees” of the public service.   

The approval was granted after the Public Service Commission reviewed the 2 agencies’ staffing programs. We will periodically review their staffing programs to ensure they remain compatible with the principles regulating staffing under the PSEA.
