Coming in 2027: A new scientific journal
The Public Health Agency of Canada will launch a new scientific journal offering a single, comprehensive platform that will showcase the full spectrum of public health research, including health promotion and chronic and communicable disease prevention and control. The new journal is anticipated to launch in spring 2027 and will begin accepting new manuscripts at that time. The first issue is currently planned for late 2027. More information will be available in the coming months!

Notice to Authors: Manuscript Submissions
The Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention in Canada (HPCDP) Journal is no longer accepting new manuscript submissions.
The Journal will publish its final issue in Fall 2026. Manuscripts currently under review will continue to be processed in accordance with established editorial standards and timelines.
The Public Health Agency of Canada is undertaking an evolution of its scholarly publishing activities. Importantly, the new journal will continue to publish research related to health promotion and chronic disease prevention in Canada, alongside other priority public health topics.
We thank our authors, reviewers and readers for their longstanding contributions to HPCDP Journal and for advancing public health scholarship in Canada and internationally.
