Call to Action on Anti-Racism, Equity, and Inclusion in the Federal Public Service

Call to action on anti-racism, equity and inclusion in the Federal Public Service

Our ability to innovate and solve complex problems comes from teamwork, which is underpinned by all colleagues feeling welcome, valued, respected, safe and included. Moving forward as an effective public service means being as representative and diverse as the population we serve.

To that end, I am resolutely committed to continuing the important work laid out in the Call to Action on Anti-Racism, Equity, and Inclusion in the Public Service, and I will be paying close attention to how organizations make progress on results and sustain accountability.

– Clerk Hannaford

The federal public service is stronger and most effective when our voices and experiences reflect the full diversity of Canada’s populations we serve.

The Call to Action on Anti-Racism, Equity, and Inclusion in the Federal Public Service (CTA) is generating meaningful momentum as departments make progress in addressing the long-standing discrimination and racism experienced by many Indigenous peoples and Black and other racialized groups across Canada.

Building a diverse, equitable and inclusive public service is an obligation we all share, and we still have a long way to go.
