Rebecca Lee

Rebecca is a postdoctoral researcher with the Geological Survey of Canada. She works with Dustin Whalen to investigate how arctic coastal systems respond to the impacts of climate change in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR) in the Northwest Territories.

Rebecca's most recent research is based in Tuktoyaktuk, an Inuvialuit community located on the Beaufort Sea Coast. This community faces some of the greatest climate change impacts in Canada. She works closely with members and leaders of the Hamlet to co-produce research to support the community.

Rebecca also works with other communities in the ISR to co-produce similar research to support their climate change adaptation . She uses unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based imagery, geophysical techniques, and ground condition monitoring to examine coastal changes and the effectiveness of their community strategies to mitigate the impacts of these changes.

Degree
