Are you seeing changes in the fish around Cambridge Bay region?

The diversity and biology of fishes in the Arctic, especially of small non-commercial species, is the focus of a study to inventory marine and freshwater fishes in the Cambridge Bay region, using both specimen collection and genetic techniques (metabarcoding, eDNA). This information can be used to detect or predict changes in fish communities resulting from climate change, and will form the basis of a knowledge sharing collection at the Canadian High Arctic Research Station.

Come and share Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit and local knowledge to enhance scientific and community knowledge of these ecologically important fish species in the food web.
