People of PacifiCan: Deirdré Liebrandt-Johnson

Deirdré Liebrandt-Johnson. Text reads: People of PacifiCan - Deirdré Liebrandt-Johnson – Senior Advisor. Quote: " I really enjoy working with a great team of people who are all passionate about making this a great place for all British Columbians.”

Meet Deirdré. As one of PacifiCan’s Senior Advisors, she loves to create delectable dishes in the kitchen, while enjoying quality time with her kids.

How did you arrive at PacifiCan?

I have worked in the federal public service in B.C. for over 20 years.

I’ve had amazing opportunities to work on interesting large projects and in different capacities in two other federal departments.

This felt like the right time for me to take on a new challenge.

What interested you about PacifiCan?

I love that PacifiCan is focused on B.C. and that inclusive growth is part of PacifiCan’s approach to promoting economic growth across the province.

What do you do in a typical day?

My day typically involves gathering information, usually through conversations with partners or research, and turning that into strategic advice to inform the work the agency does.

I work closely with a small team, and we get to talk though approaches and address challenges together. It’s a great environment. Some days are fast-paced but there is good balance.

What do you find most rewarding about your work?

I really enjoy working with a great team of people who are all passionate about making this a great place for all British Columbians. I also love that I am learning more about different communities in B.C. every day.

A few “quick facts”

Any advice you have for people who may want to join PacifiCan?

My advice for anyone wanting to join PacifiCan is to be curious. Take opportunities to learn more about the B.C. economy.

Dig into the different economic challenges and opportunities across different regions of the province and for different segments of the population.
