Your personal information is collected by Service Canada for the purpose of delivering the Canada.ca newsroom email service for which you have subscribed to. Information is collected under the authority of the Financial Administration Act, and in accordance with the Policy on Communications and Federal Identity.

Your information is protected in accordance with the Privacy Act. The Act sets rules on government institutions’ collection, use, disclosure, and retention of personal information. It provides individuals with:

1. The right to access personal information under the control of Service Canada;
2. The right to request its correction; and
3. The right to complain to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada about the handling of that personal information.
