NSICOP Congratulates Murray Rankin on Appointment as Chair of NSIRA

Ottawa, August 1, 2019 — The National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians (NSICOP) congratulates Mr. Murray Rankin on his appointment as Chair of the National Security and Intelligence Review Agency (NSIRA). The Committee looks forward to cooperating with Mr. Rankin in his new role. NSICOP also congratulates the other members of NSIRA on their recent appointments.

The Chair of NSICOP, the Honourable David McGuinty, praised Mr. Rankin’s contributions as a founding member of NSICOP and welcomed his appointment: “Murray Rankin provided thoughtful insight and a well-informed perspective to NSICOP deliberations. He is an excellent choice to lead Canada’s newest security and intelligence review agency.”

The Prime Minister appointed Mr. Rankin as Chair of NSIRA on July 24, 2019.
