The grievor argued that he should be awarded the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali Medal in recognition of his service in Mali. The Committee found that as the grievor was not filling one of the 250 United Nations positions with the mission, he did not meet the criteria to be awarded the medal. However, the grievor had been awarded the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal as well as the Operational Service Medal - Expeditionary, in recognition of his participation on the Operation.
