What's New: Former Chairperson Bruno Hamel Awarded the Canadian Forces Medallion of Distinguished Service

On December 8, 2017, Former Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Bruno Hamel, was awarded the Canadian Forces Medallion of Distinguished Service. The Chief of the Defence Staff, General Jonathan H. Vance, presented the award to Mr. Hamel in recognition of his contribution to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) grievance process and his constant efforts to improve the process for the benefit of CAF members.

Mr. Hamel headed the Committee for eight years, from March 2009 to January 2017. He is a retired CAF officer who had worked for many years in complaint resolution within the military, including in the Office of the Ombudsman of the Department of National Defence and the CAF, and with the Director General Canadian Forces Grievance Authority.
