CFGB Holiday Message to the Troops

The CFGB sent holiday greetings and expressed its support for the men and women of the Canadian Forces by posting a message to the troops on the Write to the Troops Web site. In this message, the Board's Chairperson, Mr. Bruno Hamel, praised the troops’ courage and commitment and noted the great sacrifice they are making by being away from their families and loved ones at this time of year.
"As we celebrate the holidays, I would like to once again thank you, on behalf of all the staff at the Canadian Forces Grievance Board, for your unwavering commitment to the defense and protection of our country and its values. In Canada, as we celebrate with family and friends, we will be thinking of the tremendous sacrifice you are making for Canadians by being away from your loved ones and the warmth of your homes during the holiday season. Your selfless contribution to security throughout the world is a step forward in helping to realize our wish of peace, prosperity and happiness in the world in the New Year and beyond. As an administrative tribunal independent from DND, we remain committed to improving your conditions of service and contributing to the success of your missions. We do so by paying close attention to the issues you raise as we review your grievances and by rendering impartial findings and recommendations to the CDS. As much as possible under the difficult and dangerous circumstances in which you may find yourselves, on behalf of all Canadians, we wish you a joyous holiday season and a Happy New Year!"
