If you’re an employee of an owner or operator of an international bridge or tunnel, you need a work permit to work in Canada.

For example, you may be a U.S. employee of the Peace Bridge Authority who’s working in a toll booth on the Canadian side of the border.

Type of work permit

You can apply for an employer-specific work permit(opens in a new tab)  .

Your employer doesn’t need to get a labour market impact assessment or to submit an offer of employment to hire you. You must provide a copy of your job contract or employment letter when you apply.
