You need a work permit
If you’ve applied for one of the permanent residence pathways for Hong Kong residents, you need a work permit to work in Canada.
Based on your answer, you may be eligible for a 3-year open work permit. You must also meet the general eligibility requirements for a work permit.
Work permits for spouses or commonlaw partners
Your spouse or common-law partner may be able to apply for an open work permit at the same time as you. They must have been included on your application for permanent residence.
