Extend or change the conditions on your work permit

You must apply to extend or change the conditions on your work permit if

• it will expire soon, or
• you want to change employers or other conditions listed on it

Apply at least 30 days before your current work permit expires

You should apply at least 30 calendar days before the expiry date of your current work permit.

To avoid delays, you should consider the processing time for in-Canada work permit applications. This increases the chance that we’ll process your application before, or shortly after, your current permit expires.
