This program gave a pathway to permanent residence in Canada for people affected by the conflict in Sudan who have family in Canada who could support their settlement and integration. We accepted 1,700 new applications from people
- who lived in Sudan when the conflict began on April 15, 2023
- who are the child, grandchild, parent, grandparent or sibling of an extended family member in Canada
- whose extended family member in Canada is
- a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- willing to support your application
How we’ll support you
If we approve your application, we’ll:
- waive the Right of Permanent Residence Fee and biometric fees
- give you free settlement services, before and after you arrive, to help you join Canadian society and the labour force
- give you access to pre-departure medical services
- give you access to three months of free temporary healthcare coverage through the Interim Federal Health Program
