People registered under the Indian Act

If you’re registered under the Indian Act, you may already be a Canadian citizen. Even if you’re not, you have the right to be in Canada.

We’re working on a new section that will help adults (18 and above) and minors (under 18) registered under the Indian Act understand how they can become Canadian citizens.

Once ready, it will explain

• who is eligible for this application process and what requirements they must meet
• the required forms and documents
• how to pay the fees and submit an application
• what to do after you submit an application
