How to get a police certificate – Yemen

If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

You must provide a police certificate when you apply for:

  • permanent residence
  • citizenship
  • some temporary residence programs

How to apply

If you are a citizen of Yemen

If you live in Yemen

Apply in person at the Office of the Deputy General Director (see Contact information for complete address). You must bring:

  • A completed police clearance request form
  • Two photographs (4x6 cm) with a white background
  • A copy of your valid ID card/passport
  • Applicable fees

If you live outside of Yemen

You can:

  1. Return to Yemen and apply in person
  2. Ask a representative (a friend, relative or colleague) in Yemen, with a power of attorney, to apply on your behalf at the Office of the Deputy General Director (see Contact information for complete address)

You must bring:

  • A completed police clearance request form
  • Two photographs (4x6 cm) with a white background
  • A copy of your valid ID card/passport
  • Applicable fees

If you are a not a citizen of Yemen

If you live in Yemen (for more than 6 months)

Apply in person at the Office of the Deputy General Director (see Contact information for complete address). You must bring:

  • The letter from the Embassy of Canada requesting the Criminal Status Sheet
  • A completed police clearance request form
  • Two photographs (4x6 cm) with a white background
  • A copy of your valid passport
  • A copy of your valid residence visa for Yemen
  • Applicable fees

If you live outside of Yemen (but have lived in Yemen for more than 6 months)

You can:

  1. Return to Yemen and apply in person
  2. Ask a representative (a friend, relative or colleague) in Yemen, with a power of attorney, to apply on your behalf at the Office of the Deputy General Director (see Contact information for complete address)

You must bring:
