How to get a police certificate - Uganda
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

How to get a police certificate
Name of document(s) to get: Certificate of Good Conduct
If you are a citizen of Uganda
If you live in Uganda:
You should apply in person to the Directorate of Interpol & International Relations Uganda Police. You must allow your fingerprints to be taken and you must bring:
- A copy of your identity document.
- Two recent passport size photographs (in colour).
- A letter of introduction explaining why the police certificate is being requested.
- Applicable fees.
If you live outside of Uganda:
You should apply at your nearest High Commission of Uganda or through a representative, relative or friend. You need to provide certified original fingerprints, taken at a police station in your current place of residence. You must also bring:
- A certified copy of your identity document.
- Two recent passport size photographs (in colour).
- A letter of introduction explaining why the police certificate is being requested.
- Applicable fees.
If you are not a citizen of Uganda
If you live in Uganda:
You should apply in person to the Directorate of Interpol & International Relations Uganda Police. You must allow your fingerprints to be taken and you must bring:
- A certified copy of your passport bio-data page.
- Two recent passport size photographs (in colour).
- A letter of introduction explaining why the police certificate is being requested.

You should apply at your nearest Embassy/High Commission of Uganda or through a representative, relative or friend. You need to provide certified original fingerprints taken at a police station in your current place of residence. You must also bring:
- A certified copy of your passport bio-data page.
- Two recent passport size photographs (in colour).
- A letter of introduction explaining why the police certificate is being requested.
