How to get a police certificate – Thailand
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

If you’re a Thai citizen
Apply for a police certificate before submitting an application for:
- permanent residence
- citizenship
- some temporary residence programs
Check your application package or instructions for details.
If you’re not a Thai citizen
We’ll send you a letter requesting a police certificate after you apply. You must bring that letter when you apply for your police certificate.
How to apply
You can apply at the Special Branch of the Royal Thai Police. (available in Thai and English only)
