How to get a police certificate – Oman
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

Clearance Certificate
Police certificate and IRCC requirements
IRCC will send you a letter requesting a clearance certificate after you send your Application for Permanent Residence. You must bring that letter when you apply for a Police Certificate.
How to apply
You can:
- Apply in person at the Director of Criminal Investigations or ask a representative (a friend, relative or colleague) in Oman, with a power of attorney, to apply on your behalf
- Send your request through any Omani Embassy or Consulate abroad
Special considerations
Police certificates are not available to Omani citizens who are married to foreigners.
