How to get a police certificate – Egypt
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

Criminal Record
Police certificate and IRCC requirements
You must provide a police certificate when you apply for:
- permanent residence
- citizenship
- some temporary residence programs
Check your application package or instructions for details.
How to apply
If you live in Egypt
- Apply in person at your local police station.
- Fingerprints will be recorded on the front of the certificate.
- Fingerprint check results will be recorded on the back.
You’re responsible for picking up your completed Criminal Record.
If you live outside of Egypt
- Apply at your nearest Egyptian embassy or consulate.
