How to get a police certificate – Cambodia
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.
Name of the document you need
Bulletin of Criminal Record (or ‘Bulletin Number 3 of Criminal Record’)
Police certificate and IRCC requirements
You must provide a police certificate when you apply for:
- permanent residence
- citizenship
- some temporary residence programs
Check your application package or instructions for details.
How to apply
Applicants can now initiate the application process remotely through the CR MOJ App or portal but must still attend the Ministry's criminal record office to provide fingerprints, submit supporting documents and pay the fee. Applicants also appoint a representative to appear on their behalf where permitted.
If you live in Cambodia
You may apply at the Ministry of Justice (see Contact information for complete address) and follow the instructions in the CR-MOJ app.
Information and documents you need
- Valid passport and visa
- Home and work addresses
- Applicable fees
A Residence Certification Letter from the commune (sangkat) office is required when applying for a Police Certificate. This is obtained from the local commune office where you live/lived while in Cambodia.
If you live outside of Cambodia
You can initiate the application online on the CR-MOJ Portal or fill out an authorization form. A sample of the form is available at the Criminal Office at the Ministry of Justice. The completed form can be submitted at the Criminal Office.
You may obtain fingerprints locally if required.
You can authorize someone to apply or complete the remaining steps for the Police Certificate on your behalf.
It is recommended you verify the latest overseas-applicant procedure directly with the MOJ.
