How to get a police certificate – Cabo Verde
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.
Name of the document you need
Criminal record certificate
Police certificate and IRCC requirements
You must provide a police certificate when you apply for:
- permanent residence
- citizenship
- some temporary residence programs

How to apply
For residents of Cape-Vert
Apply online via e-residencia.gov.cv or in person through the Citizen’s shops.
An application can also be submitted to the Identification and Migration Service (SIM) or the relevant police services.
For residents outside Cape-Vert
Submit an application to the embassy or consulate.
