Hughes St-Pierre currently occupies the position of Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Deputy Minister of the Finance, Security and Administration sector at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. He previously worked at Elections Canada where he was Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Internal Services and CFO with responsibility for human resources, IM/IT, finance, procurement, security, planning and internal communications.

While Hughes has been a CFO for the last eight years, he also has a strong operations background with experience in managing projects both within and outside Canada, and managing decentralized operations including payroll for the approximately 250,000 workers required during a general election.

In 2019, Hughes was responsible for leading Elections Canada’s efforts in collaboration with Canada’s security agencies to protect the general election in the context of emerging cyber and foreign interference threats.
